South Korean model-turned-actor Hoyeon received an international acclaim and critical praise due to the international success of the Netflix original series, Squid Game, in which she was Kan Sae-byeok. She was popularly known as Player 067. Hoyeon received nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress. She also won the Screen Actors Guild Award for the Best Performance by the Female Actor in a Drama Series. Hoyeon hails in Myeonmok-dong (a suburb in Seoul), began her professional career as an independent model at Seoul Fashion Week 2011. She took part in the 4th season of Korea's Next Top Model and placed in the runner-up position. Her international debut came in 2016 , when Louis Vuitton offered her an exclusive global contract. The model has been featured in a variety of campaign since then and has also walked on the runways for a variety of designers, including Fendi and Marc Jacobs.
